PURPOSE:To prepare jadeite crystal efficiently, by sintering a raw material containing a sodium component, an aluminum component, a silicon component, an oxygen component, and an iron component in a specific ratio at high temperature at high pressure in a gas atmosphere or in vacuum. CONSTITUTION:Na2O is blended with Al2O3, SiO2 and Fe2O3 to give a raw material contqining 1mol Na, 1mole Al, 2mol Si, 6mol O, and 0.01-0.1mol Fe, which is molded into a proper shape. This molded article is sintered by the use of HIP at high temperature at high pressure in a gas atmosphere or in vacuum. Consequently, translucent crystal consisting only of jadeite is obtained in high sintering density. |
