In a deflection fitting for safety belts, having at least one bearing block formed on during an injection-coating operation, consisting of plastic and receiving a deflection body for the belt band, said bearing block is arranged at a distance from the deflection body and receives this in a cantilevered manner. Under normal driving conditions, the belt band is guided only over the deflection body, whereas, when the belt is subjected to high tensile stress, before the latter is supported on a passage slit of the deflection fitting and before a displacement causing a release of the deflection body the latter is supported on the basic body as a result of the elastic yielding in the bearing block.
