The sprung wheel suspension for an armoured cross-country wheeled vehicle has a torsion bar (8) extending transversely in the vehicle and a swivel arm (3) fixed thereto, the wheel being driven by way of a telescopic propshaft (14) extending transversely to the vehicle floor. Any impediments or damage occurring whilst travelling due to external influences on the drive elements involved in the compression and rebound are to be prevented. For this purpose a casing (15) incorporated in the vehicle floor (11), accommodating the drive propshaft (14) and permitting its swivel movements is used. So that foreign bodies which have been thrown up during cross-country journeys and have penetrated into the casing do not remain there, the casing (15) is of grid-like construction on its underside. <IMAGE>
