<p>A closing and opening mechanism for the boot lid or rear hatchback door of a motor vehicle with a locking mechanism, in which a slidable push button (14) carries a cylinder lock (22) arranged to rotate a member (42, 44) for releasing the latch mechanism between an operative position and an inoperative position. The rotation of the latch-release member (42, 44) from the inoperative position to the operative position and vice versa can also be achieved automatically by means of a servo-meachanism (50) operated by a central electrical locking mechanism for the motor vehicle doors.</p> |
