PURPOSE:To inspect exactly and quickly an appearance by comparing a level variation quantity of a picture signal of a surface to be inspected with a prescribed value, detecting a defective point, and detecting whether the number of its defective points exceeds a prescribed number or not. CONSTITUTION:A picture signal of the surface of an object 11 to be inspected from a television camera 15 is delayed through a delay line 20, compared with its original picture signal by a differential amplifier 23, and compared with a threshold level by a threshold level setting device 26, by a binary-coding circuit 25, by which a defective point is detected. This defective point is inputted to a quality deciding circuit 28, the number of defective points is counted, and when its count value becomes larger than a standard value set in advance, a fault of the object 11 to be inspected is detected. |
