The data processing installation is especially intended for invertory control purposes. The major components are a data input unit (1) - typically a keyboard - for the retention of alphanumeric data, central processor unit (2), a numeric display unit (3), a tape printer (4) (with typically 24 columns), a disc writer (5), a program stroe (6), a data store (7), a control unit (8) and a power pack accumulator (9) to provide a back-up facility in the event of network failure. The system enables inventory items to be added or subtracted and recorded in a primary list. A space on the record is allocated to the unit code number, the unit price, the cost of teh specified item and the total cost of a series of items.
