PURPOSE:To provide a non-impact type printer small in size and capable of saving labor, wherein a single motor can be rotated in forward and reverse directions, a printing head is spaced from a platen when the motor is rotated in one of the two directions, and a paper can be fed when the motor is rotated in the other direction. CONSTITUTION:When starting a printing operation, the motor 42 is rotated in the direction of an arrow D to turn ON a releasing switch 44. Then, the printing head 29 is moved by the rotation of the motor 27, thereby printing. Meanwhile, the head 30 is pressed against the platen 21. When printing in a line is completed, the motor 42 is rotated by 36 steps in the direction of the arrow D, whereby a platen holder 20 is turned clockwise through a cam 33 and a lever 32, and the head 30 is spaced from the platen 21. Then, the motor 42 is rotated in the direction opposite to the arrow D, whereby a recording paper 26 is fed by a one-line amount by a rubber roller 24 through a feeding gear 41. Thereafter, the motor 42 is rotated in the direction of the arrow D to press the head 30 against the platen 21. |
