The invention relates to a system for partitioning or dividing up a variable habitable internal space. This system makes it possible, by the multiplication and combination of a number of narrow modular components with a moveable technical module, to define, within the limits of any free surface, a plane for the distribution of the functional elements and cells of the dwelling. These variations may arise either during the original formation of the plane, or thereafter, in a repeated manner, totally or partially. The main components therefor are : a moveable technical module 1 of variable orientation comprising a base, a partitioning structure, a ceiling, collecting and redistributing all the technical fluids which joins all the corresponding functions to the bathroom, kitchen, WC. Around this module, there are made up five types of elements acting simultaneously as furniture and as partition : cupboard 2, book case 3, corner shelf 4, (these elements being on retractable castors) and complementary accessories 6. <IMAGE>
