The multi-pack has a ring with a horizontal axis which surrounds the containers (2), is made of a cardboard or corrugated cardboard blank (1) provided with parallel cross-fold lines, and substantially has the shape of a rectangle in the unwrapped state, which rectangle is subdivided by means of the cross-fold lines by a number of pivotable flat parts which form the standing surface of the containers, two opposite end walls and top wall parts of the multi-pack. The two open sides of the ring-type multi-pack are provided with a hooping band (17) of up to 2 cm in width about half way up the containers (2), which band contacts one part of the containers and is provided as the sole means both of holding the multi-pack together and of carrying it with one or two hands. <IMAGE>
