PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as a raw material for preparing adipic acid, etc. simply in high conversion ratio and in high selectivity, by oxidizing cyclohexene in a liquid phase with molecular oxygen by the use of a compound catalyst of an iron compound, etc. and Pd supported on a carrier. CONSTITUTION:Cyclohexene preferably containing a large amount of benzene and/or cyclohexene is oxidized in a liquid phase with melecular O2 in the presence of an aliphatic alcohol preferably ethanol, etc. and a compounded catalyst consisting of at least one metal compound selected from an iron compound, copper compound, molybdenum compound, tungsten compound, and vanadium compound and a catalyst supported on a carrier such as Pd-active carbon, etc. at 20-250 deg.C under pressure >=1kg/cm<2>G, to give cyclohexanone. A ratio of the Pd supported on the carrier to the metal compound is 1-30mol metal compound based on 1 gram atom Pd, and higher the ratio of the metal compound, the higher the reaction ratio and selectivity of cyclohexene. |
