The process for admixing a liquid with gases which it can absorb operates virtually without any gas loss, because the gases according to the invention are introduced in a section where the liquid flow is directed downwards and the flow velocity of which in the upper part of the section is larger, and in the lower part of the section is smaller, than the speed at which the gas bubbles in the liquid flow rise in each case. As a result, in a central part of the section a zone of suspended bubbles is formed in which the flow velocity of the liquid and the speed at which the gas bubbles rise in the liquid are opposite and of the same magnitude, so that the gas bubbles are maintained in this zone until they are completely absorbed, without bubbling up to the liquid surface and generating losses. In addition, several shapes are described which can be given to the walls for carrying out the process.
