In a cutting device for connecting wires of components used in printed-circuit boards, having a cutting plate onto which the printed-circuit boards fitted with the components are placed, the wire ends which are to be cut off from the components projecting downwards beyond the cutting plate through openings therein, having a blade which extends over the width of the cutting plate, is pressed in a sprung manner against its underneath, and is held on a support which can be displaced along the cutting plate, and in the event of whose displacement the wire ends are cut off by means of its cutter resting against the cutting plate, in order to make it possible to cut the wire ends to length in both displacement directions of the blade, it is proposed that the blade in each case have a cutter on opposite sides and that the blade or the support be capable of being pivoted between two positions about an axis running transversely with respect to the displacement direction, the one cutter resting against the cutting plate in the first position, and the other cutter resting against the cutting plate in the second position.
