<p>PURPOSE:To measure the steel sheet speed between mill stands with good accuracy by attaching a disk for detection having parts to be detected to the side face of a tension roll, detecting the parts to be detected by a detecting part and calculating the steel sheet speed between the stands in accordance with the detection signal. CONSTITUTION:Notched grooves 4a of the disk 4 for detection attached to the side face of the tension roll 2 disposed between four high mills 1 are detected by a detector 5. The detection signal is inputted via an amplifier 8 to a speed converter 6 and is counted. The speed converter 6 calculates the rotating speed of the roll 2, i.e., the steel sheet speed between the stands from the count value within the specified time. The steel sheet speed between the mill stands is thus measured with good accuracy.</p> |
