Filter coatings are formed on perforated, porous, fissured or similar wall surfaces of a chamber through which dust-laden gas flows. Suspended filter particles are introduced by a flow of gas into the chamber and the gas passes through the perforated walls depositing the particles on them. The size of particles is that which will just not pass through the wall perforations. Pref. further particles of slightly smaller size are then added in the same way, to build up the filter layer. Method allows inaccessible regions to be coated with filter layers. The finished appts. is esp. for purifying flue gases in a waste incinerator, using particles of refractory material.
|
