PURPOSE:To prevent print shift of a carriage in mobile direction by detecting position difference of jet ink of plural nozzles in carriage scanning moving direction so as to decide the recording timing jetted from each nozzle. CONSTITUTION:Ink jet heads 91-94, charge electrodes 151-154, deflection electrodes 131, 132 and girders 211-214 are mounted on a carriage 22. A charge detecting electrode 24 is set at a position received charged ink particles with the electrode 151 jetted from the head 91. Imaging controllers 351-354 perform respectively ink jet control of the heads 91-94, phase retrieval, adjustment of deflection and recording charge control or the like. The incoming of jetted ink particles from the heads 91-94 attended with the movement of the carriage 22 is detected, the timing shift incoming in front of the electrode 24 of each head so as to decide the recording start timing of ink particles jetted from each head based on the shift. |
