PURPOSE:To detect surely the running error of a magnetic card or an invalid card with a simple means by reading the information of the magnetic card and constituting the reader that the magnetic card is detected through the presence of electromagnetic coupling between two magnetic heads. CONSTITUTION:A slot 11 to run manually the magnetic card 14 is provided to the center of reading case. The 1st and 2nd magnetic heads 1, 2 are arranged respectively nearly at both sides of the center of the slot and its reading tip is contacted with the energizing force of sping boards 12, 13. Then an AC signal transducer is connected to the 1st magnetic head 1 and an amplifier is connected to the 2nd magnetic head 2 respectively. When the magnetic card 14 is inserted to the contact part of both magnetic heads and a signal from the AC signal transducer is not detected, the running of the magnetic card is detected. The stored information of the magnetic stripe 15 is read by the 2nd magnetic head during the running of the magnetic card. Thus, an invalid card and a running error of the card are detected surely. |
