NEW MATERIAL:N,N-Diisopropyl-2-ethylhexanamide of the formula. USE:An organic electrolyte which is a water-insoluble liquid compound, useful as an ink medium for high-speed jet and further as a solubilizing agent, reaction medium and other functional liquids, etc., having a high dielectric constant and a liquid within a wide temperature range. PREPARATION:Diisopropylamine is reacted with 2-ethylhexanoyl chloride in the presence of a dehydrochlorinating agent, e.g. pyridine, in a solvent, e.g. benzene, to afford the aimed compound of the formula. |
