Absorbent dressing of a generally rectangular shape for the mildly incontinent of both sexes, comprising an absorbent pad covered on its lower face by an impermeable sheet. The dressing is constituted by an absorbent pad 1 having a width greater than the width of the dressing and of which the two opposite lateral parts comprise a double fold upwards, namely first folds 12 one towards another and second folds 13 in the opposite direction, so that the double-folded lateral parts leave between themselves, between the first and second folds 12, 13 at most a gap of small width. The folded pad is covered on its upper face, from one longitudinal end and over a portion of its length, by an impermeable sheet 14 connected in a watertight manner to the said longitudinal end and on its two opposite lateral edges to the impermeable sheet 6 covering the lower face of the pad. <IMAGE>
