In an aircraft turbo-jet engine, a ball-bearing assembly 36 of the angular-contact type comprises steel races 44, 47 bonded to annular support-members 43, 46 that are made of beryllium, the member 43 being fixed to a rotatable nozzle 34, (or 35), Fig. 2 (not shown), for fuel-combustion products and the member 44 being fixed to a duct 31. A similar assembly may be used to mount a rotatable conduit (22), Fig. 1 (not shown), upon a fixed conduit (21) in an alternative engine and to couple a further rotatable conduit (24) to the conduit (22). The bearing assembly may comprise rollers instead of balls. |
