PURPOSE:To perform position correction against thermal deformation without using an automatic electrode replacing unit by providing a function correcting an NC discharge machining device against the machine temperature change due to the temperature change during machining. CONSTITUTION:In a discharge machining device column center positioning is performed with a probe 17 fitted to a surface plate 6 and a reference ball 15 fitted in a machining tank before machining, and positioning is performed between an electrode 1 and a work 2, then the difference between both coordinates is measured in advance. Next, machining is started, and at a pause of machining the probe 17 is moved above the ball 15 to perform column center positioning. Then, the electrode 1 is moved by the difference of coordinates measured previously before the start of machining. At this time, an error caused by thermal deformation is corrected. Then, machining is resumed. According to this constitution, position correction against thermal deformation can be performed without using an automatic electrode replacing unit. |
