PURPOSE:To improve the scratch resistance and abrasion resistant characteristics as well as close adhesiveness, by coating a metal base body with a ceramics plasma spraying film having a specific composition through a specific undercoat metal layer and specifying the coating thickness of said film. CONSTITUTION:An undercoat plasma spraying film comprising an Ni-Cr alloy is at first formed to a metal base body made of stainless steel and the film thickness thereof is pref. adjusted to about 5-20mum. A ceramic plasma spraying film having a composition consisting of 40-86wt% of Cr3C2 and 60-14wt% of TiO2 is formed on the undercoat plasma spraying film. The sum thickness of the plasma spraying films are set to 20-200mum. By this method, a ceramic coated metal body having a coating layer, of which the surface characteristics such as scratch resistance, anti-wear property and shock attenuating property are improved while holding the characteristics of the metal base body and good close adhesiveness, is provided. This coated metal body can be suitably used in a metal product such as the iron head of a golf club. |
