PURPOSE:To grasp completely the communication environment by arranging a measuring instruments on the sites of actual transmission and reception sides, transmitting and receiving a communication message automatically between the measuring instruments to measure an error rate of transmission between installed cables thereby detecting concretely the transmission error rate. CONSTITUTION:A communication message transmitted from the 1st measuring device 2 is received by the 2nd measuring device 3, which detects the transmission error of the received message with parity and/or check sum by a transmission/reception error rate measuring section 3b. Moreover, the transmission side and the reception side of the measuring devices 2, 3 are replaced, that is, the 1st measuring device 2 is connected to the reception side and the 2nd measuring device 3 is connected to the transmission side to transmit/receive the communication message equal to above-mentioned message and detect the transmission error. Transmission error rate measuring sections 2b, 3b of the measuring instruments 2, 3 calculate the transmission error rate with the operation of another flow and display the result based on the result of detection of transmission error obtained in this way. |
