<p>PURPOSE:To enable uniform recording, by a method wherein driving voltage for a heating element group on the forward side with respect to a recording direction is set to be different from that for a heating element group on the backward side. CONSTITUTION:For example, in the case of printing 'C', when a group of heating elements DA1-DA8 for exclusive use in odd-numbered cycle are brought onto a line 51, a voltage of VAA is impressed on the elements DA2-DA6 to generate heat, thereby printing. Next, when the recording head 11 is moved rightward so that the elements DA1-DA8 are located on a line 54 while heating elements DB1-DA8 are located on a line 52, a voltage VBB is impressed on the elements DB1-DB7 for exclusive use in even-numbered cycle, thereby performing printing. In this case, the voltage VBB is determined in consideration of the residual heat in a heat-fusible ink ribbon warmed when the driving voltage VAA is impressed on the elements on the forward side. Then, an odd- numbered cycle is carried out to record as indicated by a line 55, and then even-numbered dots are recorded as indicated by a line 54. Accordingly, 'C' is completely printed.</p> |
