PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of a work to install a burner in site, by a method wherein an electric means is located in a casing containing an on-off valve for feeding the fuel to a burner to control the generation of spark for igniting the burner and driving of an optical detecting means. CONSTITUTION:When a burner 1 is ignited, a processing circuit 37 firstly actuates a high voltage generating circuit 39. This causes production of spark between a forward end 30 of a cylinder body 27 of an igniter 14 and an inner cylinder 23. Such spark is detected by a collecting element 35 through an optical fiber 28. The precessing circuit 37, after confirming that the spark is generated by the collecting element 35, opens an on-off valve 9. This causes ignition of a pilot burner. When ignition of the pilot burner is detected by means of the light receiving element 35, the processing circuit 37 brings on-off valves 5 and 7 into an opening state and ignites a main burner. |
