PURPOSE:To eliminate spalling of a high activity or high melting metal with respect to a twin roll type rolling method for a molten metal by supplying sheets consisting of an org. material to the surfaces of rolls by following up to the revolution thereof and bringing the molten metal and the roll into contact with each other via the sheets. CONSTITUTION:Sheets 4 consisting of an org. material are supplied to the surface of twin rolls 6 by following up to the revolution thereof and a molten metal 1 and the rolls 6 are brought into contact with each other via the sheets 4, by which the molten metal is cooled to solidify and is rolled with a method for forming a light-gage strip 2 by allowing the molten metal 1 to flow downward between the rolls 6 and rolling the molten metal simultaneously with cooling to solidification. The spalling of the rolls owing to the high activity or high melting molten metal is thus prevented. The above-mentioned method is suitable for manufacturing a light-gage strip consisting of a shape memory alloy. |
