PURPOSE:To make optimum steerage attainable even under all running conditions, by making the number of revolutions in a prime mover, a flow characteristic inherent in a flow control valve and pressure in a reaction chamber of a control valve or the like so as to be controlled. CONSTITUTION:A power steering is provided with a flow control valve F connected to a pump P, a control valve C controlling a sense of inflow to a power cylinder and a solenoid valve V in use for leading pressure into a reaction chamber of this control valve. A detector D is connected to a prime mover (m) and the flow control valve F via output units 1 and 2. The detector D is connected to a steering shaft S and detects a steering wheel angle. torque, etc., and simultaneously detects a car speed from an engine E. The solenoid valve V is excited by an output signal out of the detector D whereby pressure to be led into these reaction chambers 7 and 8 of the control valve C is controlled, thus a power assist corresponding to a running state is secured. |
