PURPOSE:To prevent hunting in control action from occurring and prevent vibration from being generated, by so constructing a variable orifice that the variation in a lock-up releasing pressure against a relative displacement in a slip control range takes place gradually. CONSTITUTION:When the vehicle velocity is in a slip range, a governor pressure PG corresponding thereto moves a lock-up controlling valve 25, the pressure PL inside a lock-up controlling chamber 18 is released through a fixed orifice 26, and a pressure PC is supplied from a converter chamber 17 through a variable orifice 19. In this period, the pressure PL is determined by the opening of the variable orifice 19, a lock-up clutch 16 comes into frictional engagement with a converter cover 5 while sliding in a degree according to the pressure PL, and transmits power in an intermediate state between a converter condition and a lock-up condition. |
