<p>A brake block holder and brake block assembly for holding brake blocks for a railway wheel. The holder is characterised by the fact that it is not bifurcated having a single flange portion (54) which is frictionally restrained against rotation on a bolt (62) by means of a friction disc (58) and a compression spring (60). The arrangement is such that the spring (60) and disc (58) maintain the correct position of the holder with respect to the railway wheel thereby avoiding problems in conventional holders which are prone to disalignment and to clatter.</p> |
