PURPOSE:To obtain a rolling roll having a tough neck part, by forming the outer shell part of a roll body used for rolling with an adamite material, a core part and bearing parts of the body with a spheroidal graphite cast iron material, and a neck end part with an adamite material having specific properties, respectively. CONSTITUTION:The outer shell part 1a of a body of rolling roll is formed tuted with an adamite material or an alloy iron casting material. A core part 1b and a bearing part 2 of the roll body are formed with a spheroidal-graphite cast-iron material having 40-50 Hs hardness, 40-55kg/mm.<2> tensile strength, and 0.5-15% elongation. Further, one side or both sides of a neck-part 3 are formed with an adamite material having 30-48 Hs hardness, >=55kg/mm.<2> tensile strength, and >=1.5% elongation. These three parts are melt-welded into one body. Thus a rolling roll having 0.8-1.2 ratio of the lengths of neck part and body, or a slender neck shape of 3.8-13 ratio of neck length and neck diameter, and a tough neck end part 3 is obtained. |
