PURPOSE:To make possible the quick charging of a battery which matches well the battery performance by setting a temperature gradient so as to make the time longer in the low temperature side when driving a CR timer and by providing a voltage control. CONSTITUTION:When a control voltage (d) is reached in a constant current region (a), a CR timer in a charge circuit starts to drive, and at the same time the discharge potential of the CR timer condenser is current-converted, drawing a current pattern (b) which goes down gradually. After the end of the timer drive, it moves into a minor constant current region (c). As for the charge current pattern setting, the current value in the constant current region (a) increases or decreases depending on whether the voltage is above or below the control voltage (d), the current value in the region (b) increases or decreases in accordance with the selected constants of the CR timer condenser and resistance, and the current value in the region (c) changes in accordance with an increase or decrease in the control resistance. Therefore, by setting the temperature gradient that makes control voltage value (d) and the timer's time (b) larger in the low temperature side, the battery performance can be sufficiently utilized while maintaining the safety. |
