The tear-open envelope with letter extraction is a normal letter envelope of any shape which, however, can be rapidly opened without any auxiliary appliances by means of a fixedly installed thread and at the same time moves the contents of the envelope out of the latter. The tear-open thread can be fitted at any lengthwise edge of the letter envelope (cf. stylised figure). I propose, however, that it should be fixed, viewed from the rear, in corner B to C. At point C a small, self-adhesive dot is fixed on the thread within the envelope and, after tearing-open of the envelope, draws out the contents adhering to the thread. To tear the envelope open, point B is torn off the envelope. As a result the user is holding the thread, which is to be drawn away from the envelope in the direction of corner C. In the course of the movement described, edge B to C is quickly and reliably split by the thread. At the end of the tearing operation, the adhesive dot described moves the contents of the envelope out by means of further pulling. Letter envelope which contains a fixedly installed thread in an edge between two corners, by means of which the edge can be split. At the end of the thread is an adhesive dot which draws the contents of the envelope out with it. <IMAGE>
