PURPOSE:To enable a tool to be located precisely simply at an optimum position by slightly varying a tool setting angle in the cutting direction and the direction perpendicular thereto by an angle varying mechanism and a signal generating unit in cutting a work with the rotation of the cutting tool and the transfer of the work. CONSTITUTION:A cutting tool angle varying mechanism consisting of a diamond bit 1, fine displacement mechanisms 7, 8 and a bit holder 9 with notches symmetric about the axis is provided on an end of a lever 6 rotated with a certain speed by a rotary unit 5 consisting of a precise rotary bearing and a motor. Said mechanisms 7, 8 are slightly displaced the setting angle of the diamond bit 1 in two directions about notches in the bit holder 9 by change in potential applied to piezo elements. Signals Va, Vr for driving two piezo elements are transmitted to said rotating mechanisms 7, 8 through slip rings 12, 13, by the outputs of voltage generators 10, 11 to work precisely a work 2 moving along a guide surface 3. |
