PURPOSE:To recover Pd with high recovery efficiency from a magnetized material by crushing a ceramic laminate into specified size, adding a dispersant to the crushed material in water, and separating magnetically the magnetized material from a nonmagnetized material under specified conditions. CONSTITUTION:A ceramic laminate consisting of Pd and a dielectric is crushed, and the maximum particle diameter of the crushed product is regulated to 44- 20mu. The fine particles are dispersed in water by adding a dispersant. Sodium hexametaphosphate, etc. is used as the dispersant, and the concn. is regulated to about 10<-2>-10<-3>mol/l. The dispersed liquid of the raw material is separated into a magnetized material and a nonmagnetized material by a high-gradient magnetic separator under conditions such as >=5 kilogauss intensity of magnetic field, and <=200mhr flow velocity of the dispersed liquid of the raw material. Pd is recovered from the ceramic laminate with high recovery efficiency by concentrating and dehydrating the obtained magnetized material. |
