An oven plant (1a) has a tunnel oven (2) in which ordinary ceramic products, in particular bricks, can be fired. The oven is fed with moist sawdust or like solid fuel. In addition, the plant has a reaction drier (4). According to the invention, the flue gas loaded with pollutants, in particular fluorine compounds and sulphur compounds, is passed at least in part through the reaction drier and thus through the fuel. Distributed within this fuel is a sorbent, in particular lime, to which the pollutants can be bound from the flue gas. In addition, more lime powder can be added by means of a blower apparatus (17) at the inlet region of the flue gas into the reaction drier (4). Between the reaction drier (4) and the oven there is then arranged initially in the feed direction a sieving device for sieving out calcium carbonate and the like and subsequent to this a gasifying device (22) for pyrolysis of the fuel and the like. In the pyrolysis, which proceeds at temperatures of about 400 to 600 DEG C, a splitting is carried out into gas for supplying the oven and into ash with pollutants bound thereon (Fig. 2). <IMAGE>
