<p>Copolymers (I) of CH2:CHNHCOOMe (II) with monomers of formula (A), (B) or (C) where R1 = H or Me; R2 = COOR3, CONR4R5, halogen, OCOR3, NR6COMe, or NR6COH; R3 = H, or opt. substd. 1-18C aliphatic, 6-14C aromatic, 7-16C araliphatic, or 5-10C cycloaliphatic gp.; R4, R6 = H, Me or Et; R5 = Me, Et or (CH2)nNR7R7 where n = 2-6; R7 = Me or Et; X = O or NR3; Y = OR9 or NR3R3; Z = OH, OR3, or NR3R3. (I) can be prepd. by conventional methods, e.g., with azo initiators, partic. by soln. or soln.-pptn. polymerisation. Pref. (I) contains 5-50, partic. 5-30,wt.% (II) units.
