The ampoule is provided with at least one zone of reinforcement adjacent to the area in which the breakage is to be made. This is intended to avoid the formation of glass splinters or other fragments as the glass is broken. The reinforcement is pref. a vitreous material contg. metal strengthening elements. The reinforcement is fixed on to the ampoule by adhesion and has physico-chemical characteristics which do not stress the ampoule glass.
