PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform the contacting and separating operation of a recording head to a platen and to enable the formation of a sharp image, by providing a head contacting and separating means equipped with an elastic support member, a drive source and an elastic connection member for transmitting the movement of the drive source to the elastic support member. CONSTITUTION:A head contacting and separating means is constituted of a leaf spring 95 as an elastic support member for supporting a thermal head 5, the holding shaft 96 of the thermal head 5, screws 97, 98 for fixing those and a solenoid 73 as a drive source for bringing the thermal head 5 into pressure contact with a platen roller 4 so that the solenoid 73 is turned ON to bring the thermal head 5 into pressure contact with the platen roller 4 and turned OFF to release the same from said platen roller 4. If said means is used in such a state that the solenoid and the leaf spring 95 are merely connected, pressing force is changed and the irregularity in the machine body is generated. Therefore, said contacting and separating means is used in such a state that the gap between an armature 99 and a flange 100 is reduced and a compression spring 102 as an elastic connection member is inserted between the thermal head 5 and the stopper 101 provided to the solenoid 73. |
