PURPOSE:To allow a typist to be capable of justly grasp the next printing position and to attain to enhance operability, by allowing a dot head to goes ahead by 2-3 characters after the printing of a dot character, and automatically return the same to the next printing position. CONSTITUTION:When the character key of a keyboard 2 is operated to apply the printing output of the dot character to paper 5, character data of one character is inputted to move a dot head 7 over a distance corresponding to 2-3 characters to the direction opposite to a dot printing direction within one dot character and, thereafter, prints the dot character to a predetermined region while moved to the forward direction with respect to the printing direction and further moved over a distance corresponding to 2-3 characters to the same direction as it is. In the next step, the dot head 7 is again moved to the opposite direction with respect to the dot character printing direction and returned to the next dot character printing region and stopped. Therefore, in a printing stop state, the dot head 7 is surely stopped in the next dot character printing region and, therefore, a typist can grasp the next printing position directly. |
