A connecting device for the flat connection of at least two panels partially overlapping each other in the abutting region, in particular floor panels of a sports or multi-purpose hall floor which can be dismantled, is described. The connecting device has a flat clamping clip which is essentially parallel to the abutting joint of the panels and has at one end a tie rod and at its other end a gripping section which transversely spans the panel abutting region and is for mutually opposite counter-securing means on the panels. The connecting device permits easier assembly, which is less susceptible to assembly errors and at the same time produces a firmer bond of the floor panels.
