In a container (1) with a releasable closure (3) which contains a pipette and in which the suction member (4), which is made of elastically deformable material, of the pipette is held so that its rear section is accessible from outside, the suction member (4) has a suction tube (9) at its anterior end. Upstream of the connecting region of the suction member (4) with the closure (3) there is provided an annular seat (7) for sealing contact at the upper rim of the container orifice. Between seat (7) and connecting region (6) with the closure (3) there is a section whose length is variable, its axial length in the case where the closure (3) seals the container (1) being less than when the closure (3) has been taken off the container (1). <IMAGE>
