Guide tubes of metal or plastic (polyethylene) are used when laying groups of prestressed cables through changes of direction, to lead the cables individually through changes of direction, to lead the cables individually through a supporting matrix pref. of a non-shrink mortar or an epoxy resin based sealant. Pref. the cast support is confined by a metal (steel) bend or casing linked to a hollow or multichannel cable duct by an elastic sleeve with borders covered by a seal tape, opt. heat shrunk. Pref. the guide tubes extend beyond the zones surrounded by the supporting matrix.
