PURPOSE:To obtain the titled medium capable of transferring a high-density image with a minute amount of energy, by providing a polyimide resin film layer having a film thickness of 0.2-5mum on the side of a transfer sheet opposite to a transfer layer, in a thermal transfer medium using a leuco dye. CONSTITUTION:The transfer layer comprising a leuco dye as a main constituent is provided on one side of a base such as a paper and a plastic film, and a polyimide varnish is applied to the other side to provide the polyimide resin layer having a thickness of 0.2-5mum, thereby obtaining the transfer sheet. The transfer layer is provided by applying a known leuco dye together with a conventional binder or the like. On the other hand, a receiving layer comprising a color developer for the leuco dye, e.g., a phenolic substance or an organic acid, as a main constituent is provided on a base such as a paper and a plastic film to obtain a receiving sheet. It is preferable to incorporate a porous filler having an oil absorption of 50ml/100g, a heat-fusible substance or the like into the receiving layer in addition to the color developer. |
