MANUFACTURE OF CYLINDER WITH BELLOWS MADE OF FIBER- REINFORCED PLASTIC

PURPOSE:To manufacture a cylinder with a bellows whose cylinder section is thicker and more rigid than the bellows section by forming a layer and a reinforced layer varied in the winding angle on the bellows section and the cylinder section of a tubular body. CONSTITUTION:A matrix resin-impregnated is wound on a die having a part 5 for molding a cylinder section and a dent 11 molding a bellows section at a low angle to form a low-angle wound layer 12. Then, a reinforced layer 13 is forced at the dent 11 on the low-angle wound layer 12. The low-angle wound layer of the dent part is cut away together with the reinforced layer. A die 14 for molding the bellows section is mounted on the dent 11 released by cutting. A matrix resin-impregnated fiber is wound entirely on a tube to form a high-angle wound layer 16. A cure molding is done, whereby the bellows section is made up of the high-angle wound layer while the cylinder section being made up of the low- angle wound layer and the high-angle wound layer to improve the rigidity of the cylinder section significantly.
