LEVELING OF RUBBLE MOUND AND STRIKING HEAD FOR ROUGH LEVELING

PURPOSE:To more greatly enhance leveling efficiency of rubble mound than the vertical striking leveling by a method in which a sideward force is applied to the rubble on the top of a greatly undulatory rubble mound for rough leveling, and a vertical force is applied to the top of the mound for finish leveling. CONSTITUTION:Rubble mound M on the ground's surface or seabed is struck by a pointed bottom type striking head for rough leveling to give a sideward force to the rubble. The head 1 is attached to the lower part of an impact generator 12 hung down from a rope 62, and a pair of steel inclined plates 2 are pivotally supported downwardly on the head 1 in a freely opening or closing manner by an oil-pressure cylinder 6. The top of roughly leveled rubble mound M is flattened by a flat-bottom striking head 50 for finishing, provided on the lower part of the impact generator 12. The rubble mound can thus be more effectively leveled than the vertical impact leveling method alone.
