The invention relates to high-pressure sodium vapour lamps. It relates to a lamp having a supply line 18a which at the level of each electrode 17a, 17b has a configuration centred on the corresponding electrode and arranged around the electrode in such a way that the magnetic field created at the location of the electrode in the direction transverse to the latter is zero. In this way the electrode is not polarised while the lamp operates and the latter exhibits no abnormal darkening. Application to sodium lamps used for public lighting. <IMAGE>
