PURPOSE:To provide a writing ink which does not cause the clogging of nib and whose handwriting is not chalked, by using an alcohol as a main solvent and incorporating a coloring matter, an alcohol-soluble resin and a 2-pyrrolidone derivative therein. CONSTITUTION:An ink compsn. contains a coloring matter (A) (e.g. an alcohol- soluble dye such as C.I. Solvent Black 34 or an alcohol-soluble resin-treated pigment), an alcoholic solvent (e.g. ethanol), an alcohol-soluble resin (C) (e.g. a phenolic resin) and a 2-pyrrolidone derivative (D) of the formula (wherein R is H, a 1-3C alkyl, alkenyl) such as 2-pyrrolidone or methyl-2-pyrrolidone. Incorporation of component D serves to eliminate disadvantages associated with conventional alcoholic ink, such as a chalking phenomenon due to moisture absorption by handwriting followed by deposition of the resin component, and clogging or blurring due to deposition of water-insoluble resin components on a nib. The obtained ink composition is suitable as marking pen ink, a recorder pen ink, a stamping ink, or the like. |
