摘要 PURPOSE:To utilize a part of sunlight as electrical energy while utilizing the other part of sunlight for growing plants for realizing a very effective use of the ground and sunlight, by employing a power-generation/light-transmission device adapted to selectively transmit light beams having specific wavelengths. CONSTITUTION:The present optical power generation element 2 is constructed to be a thin film type consisting of a P-type layer 6 having a thickness of 1,000Angstrom or less, an I-type layer 7 of 1mum or less and an N-type layer 8 of 1,000Angstrom or less. In a sun room SR utilizing such thin-film-type optical generating element, light beams incident to the element and having wavelengths included in a certain range are absorbed by the element while the other beams pass through the optical power-generation element and enter into the sun room. The said range is defined by the band gap values of the material forming the optical power- generation element. When a-Si is utilized as such material for example, a part of ultraviolet light beams affecting adversely to the growth of plants is adsorbed and converted into electrical or thermal energy, while the remaining light beams are allowed to pass through the element for providing atmospheric conditions preferable for growth of plants.
