PURPOSE:To bend automatically a rod by allotting the set data for bending conditions stored preliminarily to each of the segments divided at a suitable pitch in the longitudinal direction of a rod to be bent and determining the control conditions for bending in said blocks. CONSTITUTION:A rod 10 is set between a main bending roller 11 and receiving rollers 12a, b. The rod 10 is divided to segments rho1, rho2... and the girth sizes g1, g2... from an end face 41 are relationally operated with the stored information and a bending block 42 is set. The span of the rollers 12a, b and the pushing rate of the roller 11 are set for each of the blocks. The rod 10 is then fed and the feed rate g1 from a reference point is determined by a length measuring contactor 16. The roller 11 is pushed to the rod 10 by a hydraulic cylinder 14 to press and bend the rod. The rod 10 is further fed and is press bent in the prescribed length range and thereafter the similar operation is repeated. The automatic bending of the rod is thus made possible by using NC control. |
