PURPOSE:To prevent a work from being flawed, by controlling clamping force of the work in accordance with a change of loading position so as to gently perform loading, in the case of profile machining or the like of a steam turbine blade. CONSTITUTION:A blade 3, whose root part is clamped between fingers 32, is lowered toward a work receiving jaw 76, and clamping force is relaxed if the path of light between light emitting and receiving elements 53, 54 provided in hooks 51, 52 is shielded by the jaw 76. Then the work 3, lowering while the clamping force of the finger is relaxed, is detached as left being placed on the jaw 76 from the hooks 51, 52 because no clamping force is provided between the hooks 51, 52 and the work 3 in the lowermost point, never receiving a flaw due to the hooks or the jaw 76. In such way, automatic loading can be surely performed. |
