<p>Compsns. contg. al-(4-phenoxyphenyl)-1,3,5-triazine of formula (I) or a salt of this, are new: (where R1 = haloalkylthio, haloalkylsulphinyl or haloalkylsulphonyl, R2 = H, alkyl, alkoxy, alkoxylakyl, alkylmercapto, halogen, halo alkyl, or a sulphamoyl gp. which may be substituted R3 and R4 = H, alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl, and X = O or S). - A typical product is 1- 3-chloro-4-(4'-trifluoromethylthiophenoxy)-p henyl -3-methyl-1,- 3,5-triazine-2,4,6(1H,3H,5H) trione, m.pt. 186 186 degrees C. In example this was prepd. by suspending 2.64g N- 3-chloro-4-(4'-trifluoromethyl thiophenoxy)-phenyl -N'-methyl urea in toluene, and adding 0.92g chlorocarbonyl isocyanate dropwise. The mixture was stirred at room temp. for 30 mins. and refluxed for 2 hrs. The yield was 89%.</p> |
